Like a Crashing Wave...Holy Love, flow in me...

**reposting

As we were singing Holy Love this morning at church, I was acutely aware of the oceans of fear that surrounds us this day. Satan is grinning. It is washing over us, seeping into the unprotected zones, the parts of us that we control.
(Any time Satan comes with fearful thoughts in any area that we have relinquished control to God, we can simply point him to Jesus, say, man, tell it to Him, He's in total control here...(-;)
Then up pop things we cannot control:
Betrayal in relationships
Illness,
loss of jobs,
financial distress...
just to name a few...
so, it is time, like Mary, seated at Jesus' feet,
to drink in all He had to say;
like Esther, who put on her royal robes,
to face Xerxes at the risk of death.
He extended the royal sceptre,
she had to reach out and touch it to be safe.
Go to Jesus, pour out your heart, surrender...
Reach out, sing this song, read the Scripture, claim it,
and let His holy love come crashing like a wave,

washing all that fear away...
wiping Satan's grin away...

1 John 4:18 (Amplified Bible)
18There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love
turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love's complete perfection].

(Andy Park)
Many waters cannot quench your love
Rivers cannot overwhelm it
Oceans of fear cannot conceal
Your love for me

Many waters cannot quench Your love
Rivers cannot overwhelm it
Oceans of fear cannot conceal
Your love for me
Your love for me

Holy love, flow in me
Fill me up like the deepest sea
Like a crashing wave pouring over me
Holy love flow in me

Many sorrows cannot quench Your love
Darkness cannot overwhelm it
I will not fear,
Your love is here to comfort me

Many sorrows cannot quench Your love
Darkness cannot overwhelm it
I will not fear,
Your love is here to comfort me
You comfort me

(Bridge)
When I find you I find healing
When I find you I find peace
And I know that there’s no river so wide
No mountain so high,
no ocean so deep
That You can’t part the sea

Peggy, that's great!
I was so struck by the fear around me today. May His holy love come crashing like a wave over us this week.

Dear Sita,
Andy Park is one of my favorite singers, and HOLY LOVE ranks among the top of Andy's best songs! I loved listening to it here...

THanks for posting it.

Thanks too for visiting my blog post for May 2. I re-posted it, to remind myself of wonderful lessons learned in times past. Yes, you are right, Sita, many reasons for fear are coming up again these days. But Holy Love, His perfect love, casts out all fear.

Love
Lidia

I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have the King of Kings extend his scepter on my behalf! I hope to never recover or take for granted that extension. I've taken hold, am taking hold, and will continue to cling tightly to the truth of Jesus Christ all the days of my life.

I know you feel the same.

Blessings to you in your week. Hope all is going well. Would love an update when time allows.

Hello, I happened upon your blog through your post which mentions the reason why C.S. Lewis prays from the movie Shadowlands. Well I was just briefly looking over your posts and thought I would invite you visit my blog if you have some free time. I feel like you would enjoy it. Take care.

I've really been struggling the past few days. Your wise words to me and now this lovely song have straightened my path immensely. Thank you, dear friend.

Thank you Sita, I needed to be reminded of this. To keep my eyes focused on the Lord and not give in to fear and uncertainity.

Thanks for sharing this, Sita.
I loved the image of fear coming in like an ocean - the depths of which cannot overcome or conceal Christ's love for us, which drives out all fear.

Loved the Amplified Bible's rendition of that verse!
