22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control....
Galatians 5:22-23a (The Holy Bible, NIV Version)
1. Love never fails. 4. Patience waits. 7. Faith fights.
2. Joy cometh. 5. Kindness tenders. 8. Gentleness bows.
3. Peace rules. 6. Goodness does. 9. Self-control stops.
Beth focused on the preoccupation we have with our bodies in our media-driven culture. We act out our attitude to our physical bodies in this continuum:
Neglect---------------Respect--------------Obsession
Basically we just need to practice moderation in all that we do, respecting our bodies as His temple, and being a good steward of it, by eating properly, getting enough sleep, and exercising. If we viewed all that we do in our daily grind as acts of worship, then proper respect for our bodies would fall into place.
As she wrapped up this study, she remarked about emptying yourself to be filled with the Spirit. Are we then puppets? No, because it is the Spirit who authenticates our unique thumbprint. He breathes fresh, pure life into our DNA empowering us to be what He made us to be. Living beyond yourself.
This has been a wonderful study. Thank you for sharing with me.
~Love, Sita~
