This is what I will term a 'dynamic' mission statement, subject to where the Spirit leads. Excerpts from my previous posts reveal how the blog started and how it is evolving:
From: God's First Recorded Words...
Strangely, that is what this blog has become for me, a stand. I have no idea who comes here or why, but I know that He who led me to express my overflowing heart here will lead those who need to drink from Him here. God opened my eyes twice in 2 days to the same Scripture that touched a deep chord within and I realize that it is my heart's desire:Isaiah 50:4-5 (NIV version, The Holy Bible):4. The sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. 5. The sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.
From: A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place...
If you go back to my very first post and the name that God gave me for this blog, I am amazed at how sanctum or sanctuary articulates so well God's intent for my blog. My one desire is that whoever reads will be drawn back to God and also experience that sacred quietness, that holy lull that lifts and refreshes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My mission is to be authentic, reflecting my humanity with its struggles and victories, and like David in the Psalms, allow God to filter my thoughts through His Word. I recount and reflect on books, studies, and news items that impact me and ask God to speak into my thoughts. It is in this sea of thoughts dedicated to Him that I pray my visitors will have a serene sip and dip and depart a step closer to God.
