(TSMSS is hosted by Amy. Please pop by to hear more songs that minister.)
Today, I was tremendously moved by a post by Lidia from Crown of Beauty. Please pop over and read the entire post. Even as you read this post on Saturday morning, Manila may be in the throes of yet another typhoon. I played this song she posted and I stretched out my hand to be part of that prayer and I pray that it encompasses my birth and adopted countries. Lidia quoted:
.."John Donne once wrote, "...any man's death diminishes me, for I am involved in mankind...and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.".."
As a global community, can we uphold the country of Phillipines today? Can we bleed with our global family? Can we pray that our Hope will filter deep and wide into the hearts of those in utter devastation?
But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings...
- Malachi 4:2

With healing in His wings...

Phillipines is going through a hard time. its a country ridden with poverty and corruption and now this. I know what it feels like, I belong to same 2/3rds world.
I know for the Commonwealth Games you will be rooting for both Canada and T&T ....the baton will be coming to both these countries.
Dear Sita,
Tears again fell from my eyes as I read your post. I have been crying so often these past weeks... and thank you for weeping with us in this season of calamity after calamity. Manila was a direct hit as Typhoon Mirinae made land fall last night... and at the same time that this typhoon was lashing Metro Manila, a 4.9 quake struck a nearby region, also in the Northern part of our country.
Thank you once again for the love poured out through your blog.
If we never meet face to face on this side of eternity, when I see you in heaven I will surely give you a long, tight embrace!
Blessings abundant be showered upon you and your family.
Love
Lidj
Oh my, this really touched my heart. The images of how Manila is being impacted by storms made it so real. Often I can read about something like this but when it's right in front of my face like this ...it makes such a difference. There are people suffering and homeless.
The purity of the voice singing such a profound song to these images struck me. I pray that our land in the US would be healed too. We may not have destruction like this but we do in our hearts and souls. So many don't know Jesus in a personal relationship and yet have been given so many opportunities. And too many Christians haven't been living out their faith but become too much like the world.
I pray that we would humble ourselves and pray for our countries and that God would heal our land.
Thank you for posting this one today.
Blessings,
Debbie
Lidj, my love, thoughts and prayers are with you and your country. May God be your refuge and strength.
Amrita, I know that you know only too well about the suffering of your fellow man where you are. May His comfort and provision also be yours.
I will follow those games for sure.
Debbie,
Amen to all that you said. May God bless your heart of compassion as you seek Him for what you can do.
Love you all, Sita
my thoughts and prayers go out to all those may you find peace and shelter in our Lord Jesus Christ
Have mercy... this is devastating news. Yes, I will offer my voice in prayer for this country. Having lived through a hurricane, I understand in part, although not to the limits of what is going on over there.

Crying Out in prayer with you for Manila and the entire region to HEAL OUR LANDS...Sita your heart is joined by mine and your words pierce my heart for indeed our global community. Calamities certainly should warn us of the times we live in that we must repent and cry out to Jesus! These natural disasters in 3rd world poverty places seem so unfair and unjust. May God rescue the many &
HEAL OUR LAND. I love this song & it is so powerful with these scenes from the devastation. May God protect the people in your home land and their hearts be turned toward them. May more of the rest of us be filled with compassion and action NOW to not only cry out to God for His mercy but touch lives and protect the many sufferings.
Somehow even prayers do not seem to be enough but Our God is sufficient.
Is Lidia safe? I pray that she is.
If my internet cooperates I hope to go visit Crown of Beauty...indeed our sweet sister should be surrounded with love & prayers & the Holy Comforter's arms. How much more?
Thank you for visiting MISSIONS and adding your name to Christians Around the World...God bless you!
