Happy 23rd Birthday to my Firstborn!

Yes, my son, I know it is late being published, but it is never too late to celebrate your milestones!

Happy 23rd to my favourite first born son!
May God bless you with a heart of obedience and humility and so may He exalt you in His time for His glory.

Verse of the Day, July 13, 2016

For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11 AMP

And the above font is purple. Purple is the colour of royalty and it suits you, my prince among men! I know several of my family members who look at you and see 'nobility' in the way you carry yourself among others and your desire to seek righteousness. I pray as this verse indicates, that you will be a royal heir like Jesus, with a heart of humility and obedience, yet with that firm knowledge of to Whom you belong!

And this momentous year you graduated:

University of Waterloo 2016 - Bachelor of Environmental Studies- Honours International Development- Peace and Conflict Studies Minor- Spanish Cert.

Woo Hoo! Congratulations!

And on your 23rd birthday, July 13, 2016, your beautiful girlfriend took this picture and reminded us that you are literally a "gift from God!"

In the beginning that 'gift' looked like this, oh so cute!

Little did we know he would grow into this fine looking gentleman!

Model?
Orientation at Grebel
And yeah, this would not be complete without pics with your favourite lil' bro who is seriously proud of you too! Seriously (gee, I love that word, don't I?), how I love hearing you both sing and watching you dance! Oh goosh!

Do you know that I had to shake my head to figure out your age this year? And no, it's not only because of my aging brains (haha), but you have had a maturity surge that is evident that made me think you should be at least 25!
Yep, you even allow me to hug you without stiffening with embarrassment! Now only age allows that eh?
I admire you so much!

So, Nate, it's a new chapter for you, as you contemplate life after undergrad, whether it be grad studies, work, law school. Always remember to step back from the 'busyness' of life, and that also means digital life, and allow your mind and spirit to become so silent that you can hear the Holy Spirit whisper to your spirit.
Let your mind be informed by Him, let your heart be tenderized by Him, let Your eyes be filtered by Him, let your words be authored by Him.
Pray daily that your default, that part of you that is revealed in your moments when you are unmasked, the super tired times, the overwhelming times, will one day mirror Him. (As you have no doubt noticed, He has a long way to go with me!) Because what we reveal in our default reactions/responses reflects our private time with Him, that time that we spend with Him. The more time we spend with Him, the more we become like Him. Just like families mirror each other, I pray that you will mirror Jesus.

You are immersed in a culture that is becoming increasingly anti-Christ as was prophesied. The thing is, it has happened in such a way to deceive many because Satan means to make profane all that God holds sacred. (It's called political correctness). A great example starts in Genesis: God created man, male and female. Satan wants to destroy that distinction. God also spoke of the covenant union between man and woman, "And a man shall leave His mother and a woman leave her home, and the two shall become one". Man and woman. Romans goes on to explain what happens when depravity has set in. That also shows that there is nothing new under the sun. Evil has always been present, just read Scripture! Except now we have the internet for all to see!

So now, we live in a culture that wants to eradicate what God Himself ordained to be good.
So study Scripture to know what the Creator drew up as the normal life plan. In that way, you will discern the brilliance of Satan to provide counterfeits that never satisfy and in the end destroys. And he cloaks evil in what the world perceives as progressive thinking.
Today (July 20th) the Verse of the Day is:

but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].

1 John 1:7 AMP

So Nate, I want to bless you with true, unbroken fellowship with your Father as you walk in the Light of His Presence and Word in this new chapter of your life!

And the song I dedicate to you is Good Good Father. In this life as a believer you will experience hostility and it will hurt someone like you. So in those times, remember who you are.

Loved by the good good Father.

Prayer:
Father, I come before You with such a heart of gratitude for Your grace as I look at my firstborn, Nathan, Your own. Thank You! Who he is and has become has very little to do with me as I freely acknowledge my flawed parenting that lacked 'being present' because of depression. But You! Thank You! I have watched You God as You have watched over Nathan, carrying him, exalting him, hiding him, teaching him. He has gone through much without saying much. I pray that his wounds do not stay hidden but are exposed to Your healing and redeeming power before they stagnate and contaminate. May You use His redeemed scars for Your glory in his words and life, and so may he bring healing to others.
Father, I thank You for leading him to Sarah for she is such an answer to prayer. May You also guide her and cover her with Your love and wisdom. Thank You for the friends that have stuck with him and encouraged him.
Father, thank You for his voice that sings Your glory.
Thank You for the love he has always had for his little bro.
Father, I look forward to seeing How You lead and guide him to Your calling on His life for your glory and hence his satisfaction.
In the precious Name of Jesus, I bow before You. Amen

Always, Your Mom!
Love you to the ends of the earth and back!
He's got you!
