Down at Your Feet...
No Higher Calling
Down at Your feet, O Lord, Is the most high place,
In Your presence Lord, I seek Your face, I seek Your face..
There is no higher calling, No greater honour,
Than to bow and kneel before Your throne,
I'm amazed by Your glory, Embraced by Your mercy,
Lord, I live to worship You.

All day I have had a headache and a general feeling of unwellness so I had to fight to get things done, except for one thing. In my quiet time I willingly ran to my Father, but I told Him I couldn't manage to climb on to His lap, so I stayed on the ground and hugged His ankles. Oh, it was so comforting. God is so comforting. I was indeed embraced by His mercy. How precious is that! After soaking in His Presence a little while, my spirit summoned praise to my lips in song.
It was an oasis moment for me. Thank You, Lord.
Later on I received an email from Carol Kent's mother in response to an email to Carol about how her book had blessed me. Her Mom was helping her to respond to emails because of the overwhelming response to her sharing about her son. It was such a thoughtful email and she reminded of this: "Peace is not the absence of trouble; peace is the presence of God." and the verse that they cling to: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day." 2 Corinthians 4:16
While all we see is the visible 'destruction', as we persevere and will to trust God, an invisible work is being accomplished in our hearts with an eternal value.
Father, some of us are overwhelmed with the visible circumstances, illness, financial difficulties, errant children, depression, relationships... and it is hard to see through the emotional fog. Please Father, just as You spoke into the darkness in the beginning and said "Let there be light" and there was light, please speak into our situations and let us have a glimpse of Light, Hope. Thank You, Father. You are our Comforter. Please bring a song to the lips of my friends who need a song at this time. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
