Happy Father's Day

...to my Daddy. He has always been my hero and I always thought I was his personal favorite (ha-ha). Then many years later, I realized he made each of us think that. Isn't that a God-ly trait?
He also has a 'pet' name for each of us. Hey, do you think God has one for us as well? Would it not be a hoot to ask Him to 'reveal' it to us?

My father made it so easy for me to love and trust God as a child and I thank God for that. More than anyone else, I always thought my Dad 'knew' my heart and spirit. He gave me all that he could. He only came to know Jesus later on in his life, but when he did, he came with a hunger for God's word and loved the old classic theologians like Spurgeon.

I love you, Dad and pray that God allows you to live out the rest of your life with dignity and honour in every way. I miss not having you near me.

This song is for you:

O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths
its flow May richer, fuller be.
O light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze
its day May brighter, fairer be.
O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.
O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

Hi,

I like the name of this blog and especially the verse that you chose to go along with it.

All of us need a sanctuary. A place to go and quiet ourselves in His presence.

I read your other blog, and I'm amazed at how you handled everything during that time. Your faith could have gone off the deep end.

But you found shelter in His arms.

He's so good like that.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your thoughtful comments.

Back soon.

Happy Father 's day to your Dad and husband too.

They have laid the foundations of their families well.

Did you see the Trinidad food and Sir Gary Sobers on Herrad 's blog?

I just love the hymn you posted, and also the way you did a very personal tribute to your dad. How I pray that you will be able to visit him and spend some precious time with him again in your beautiful homeland!

By the way, please come over to my June 21 post. I have something for you there!

What a precious post about your dad.
I, like you, have been blessed with a wonderful dad who taught me about God and loved me very much.
This was so sweet!
I've been crazy busy since youth camp. I've posted all about that week and now hope to play catch-up on reading all my favorite blogs.
Love to you Sita!
