In His Word, I put my hope...

Today's reading is taken from Joshua 4, Psalms 129-131, Isaiah 64.

In Joshua 4, everyone crossed over the Jordan safely. The last to cross were the priests carrying the ark who stood in the middle of the Jordan until all had crossed. The moment their feet touched the opposite bank, the waters surged back to flood stage as before. That day, Joshua was exalted by God before Israel and they revered him like they did Moses all his life.
vs.24 ...says..."He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God."

Still ruminating what this means for me in my circumstances. Is God waiting for me to 'cross'? I will continue to seek Him. I don't know. I do know that he is going to do something that reveals He is a God like no other.

Father, grant me the wisdom that You promised to those who ask as I ask You to reveal what You require of me. For Your renown, Lord.

Psalm 129:3-4 -"...plowmen have plowed my back and made their furrows long. But the Lord is righteous; He has cut me free from the cords of the wicked."
Psalm 130:1-5 -"Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Let Your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with You, there is forgiveness, therefore You are feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope...vs.7b..."for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption."
Psalm 131:2 -"But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me

Father, thank You that I am free from the chains of perpetrators of evil. You cut me free. I do cry to You for mercy. I put my hope in You, in Your Word. Make my ears attentive to Your word to me specifically. Thank You for Your unfailing love. May my soul be still before You. Amen.

Isaiah 64:4-5 -..."Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him. You come to the help of whose who gladly do right, who remember Your ways....vs.6... All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;...vs.8-9...Yet, O Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, You are the Potter; we are all the work of Your Hand. Do not be angry beyond measure, O Lord; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look upon us, we pray, for we all your people."...vs.12...After all this, O Lord, will You hold Yourself back? Will You keep silent and punish us beyond measure?"

My prayer in song:
The Power of Your Love

Lord, I come to you, let my heart be changed, renewed,
Flowing from the grace, that I found in you.
And, Lord, I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me
Will be stripped away by the power of Your love.

Refrain:
Hold me close, let your love surround me,
bring me near, draw me to your side;
and as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle,
and I will soar with you, your spirit leads me on,
in the power of your love.

Lord, unveil my eyes, let me see you face to face,
The knowledge of your love, as you live in me.
Lord, renew my mind as your will unfolds in my life,
in living every day in the power of your love.

Refrain:
Hold me close, let your love surround me,
bring me near, draw me to your side;
and as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle,
and I will soar with your, your spirit leads me on,
in the power of your love.
