The parents don 't want them back as they are too poor to feed and marry them off.
The saddest thing was watching a mother selling her child--one of the girls shown was one of the girls our team ministered to..my sister just showed us her pics--such beautiful girls--2 of them led in worship and prayed for our team--a true testimony of God's transforming power..and we saw step-by-step when our healing prayer team felt led to pray for a blind woman--the pics show her eyes opening up a bit at a time--she walked away seeing for the first time in her life!

Yes selling daughters is common among the destitute in Nepal and India. Daughters are a burden....they kill them at birth too.
