"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and, not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.(Isaiah 40:31, KJV).
The final lesson in last week's study {Beth Moore's, Living Beyond Yourself}, spoke about the natural man vs. the carnal man vs. the spiritual man. While the natural man does not have the Spirit of Jesus and therefore does not have the ability to grasp spiritual realities, the carnal man is one who has invited Jesus into his heart, yet lives like the natural man, a mere infant in Christ. The spiritual man is one in whom "the mind of Christ is activated". A woman who keeps in step with the Spirit by consciously and deliberately yielding the Spirit of God daily.
I have a friend whose struggle right now is very hard. Please let me encourage you to keep on yielding to the Holy Spirit no matter how dangerous the waves seem to be around you. You cannot control what you were never equipped to do. Only God can. So let go. Let Him do His work in His time. You just obey His promptings. As Beth says, do a 'power-walk' with the Spirit daily, let Him energize you, let Him carry the weights. Amazingly, you will be building spiritual and emotional muscles by letting Him do the hard work.
Father, I commit my friend to You. As You bring her to the state of acknowledging complete helplessness, and as she cries out to You, "Help!", reach out, Holy Spirit, energize her, speak life into her mind, renew her spirit, bring joy where only despair has taken residence. Let her glimpse herself through Your eyes. Let her take Your Hand to come out of the pigpen that Satan has gone to great pains to install and customize. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
