Michael Jackson, a precious part of my past...

Just heard the news. Michael Jackson has died at age 50...
...the musical genius...
...the troubled soul...

It has affected me in much the same way as the death of Princess Di. I have deep emotional and historical ties with Michael. I grew up hearing him sing
ABC, Rocking Robin, Got to be There and so many others. I loved his voice, I loved his moves. In his later more controversial years, I felt a deep pity but never lost my respect for all that this 'child' had undergone. It is rumored he had been surrounded by some real sharks in the entertainment industry. My child's heart cannot comprehend why people would be so evil to me. What did I ever do to them? I can only imagine what Michael went through. He was deeply betrayed and I know I am not the only one who really cared enough to pray for him.
Here are the words to his song he said spelled his heart:

Have you seen my Childhood?

I'm searching for the world that I come from
'Cause I've been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart...
No one understands me
They view it as such strange eccentricities...
'Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me...

People say I'm not okay
'Cause I love such elementary things...
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood
I've never known...

Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like pirates in adventurous dreams,
Of conquest and kings on the throne...

Before you judge me, try hard to love me,
Look within your heart then ask,
Have you seen my Childhood?

People say I'm strange that way
'Cause I love such elementary things,
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood I've never known...

Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams I would dare, watch me fly...

Before you judge me, try hard to love me.
The painful youth I've had

Have you seen my Childhood...

My heart breaks.

Lord, did he ever get to see Your Father's heart?
To know security and love?
Did he see You running to meet him?
I pray he did and that even now, he is with You living life fully for the first time in his life.
I dedicate this song to his memory:

and this is the classic Michael, the child's heart...

It is tragic how his life ended. And I have fond memories of his music as well. He was a genius at creating new genres in music and he certainly had a style all his own.

He was loved, that much is certain. But how sad his life had become... fame, fortune, talent... none of it can ever heal or save anyone.

I loved Michael Jackson , too, and like you I grieve his untimely death.

What a miserable life for a genius.

Ben was one of my favorite songs of his...

May God's comfort be real to those of us who are grieving... I do need the comfort, as I also am still grieving the death of a fellow Asian, a man who was used of God to speak to my heart many years ago...

Praise God, our times and our seasons are in His hand.

Death often makes us think upward, doesn't it? Praying your heart will be comforted, dear Sita.

Sita, He was my hero too after Elvis. sadly, he had many chances to overcome is so called eccentricities, his terrible reputation for child abuse. Unfortunately, he could not see the thread that would save him. But I am sure in His Home, MJ is resurrected and saved...

Sita, that Phillips, Craig and Dean song is beautiful. I have never heard it before that I remember.

So wonderful to be reminded of His love tonight,
Joy
